SAN ANTONIO – Nearly a year since the deadly winter storm, CPS Energy is still pursuing a flurry of lawsuits accusing natural gas providers of price gouging.
The utility filed 18 lawsuits over the winter storm. About half have been dismissed and resolved. The rest have been consolidated under one judge here in Bexar County.
The Trouble Shooters uncovered the shocking timeline of just how much prices skyrocketed and why one company says CPS Energy only has itself to blame.
In court documents, CPS Energy calls the prices it paid last February “unconscionable” and “unhinged.” Natural gas company Energy Transfer shot back in its filing, calling CPS Energy “unprepared.”
